Gold the way our families have always bought it.
Junaid Jewelers is a family house for South Asian bridal gold — 22-karat sets, bangles stacked by the dozen, jhumkay that move like they should. Weighed in front of you, priced on the day's rate, and chosen with your whole family crowded around the counter. That's how it's done, and how it will be done here.
For the wedding, and everything around it
A South Asian wedding is many days, and each one asks something different of the jewelry. The house is being stocked around those days — not around display cases.
- The bridal set
- Necklace, jhumkay, and tikka in 22k — matched as one piece of work, from heavy jadau-style sets to lighter everyday-after sets a bride will actually wear again.
- Bangles and kangan
- Plain gold churiyan by the dozen, carved kangan for the wrists that anchor the stack. Sized on your wrist, not off a chart.
- Mehndi and walima pieces
- Lighter sets for the other days — floral motifs for mehndi, polki-style settings for walima — so the big set stays the big set.
- Gifts that hold value
- Coins, lockets, and chains for nieces, nephews, and new in-laws: small gold, real weight, honestly priced against the rate.
The 22k standard, in plain words
Bridal gold is bought by weight and purity before it is bought by design. Every tag in this house will show karat, weight in grams, and making charges separately — so you can do the math yourself.
| Karat | Purity | Where it belongs |
|---|---|---|
| 24k | 99.9% gold | Coins and bars — too soft for jewelry that's worn |
| 22k | 91.6% gold | The bridal standard: sets, bangles, chains with real weight |
| 21k | 87.5% gold | Common in Gulf-bought pieces; we price it as what it is |
| 18k | 75% gold | Stone-set and polki work, where settings need strength |
Our pledge: every piece is weighed in front of you on a visible scale, every tag separates gold value from making charges, and hallmarked purity is tested on request while you watch. If your family has bought gold on Devon Avenue or in a bazaar back home, you already know this ritual — we're keeping it.
Your mother's gold, made yours
Remaking, not just melting. An old set can become a new one without losing what it means. We'll tell you the honest weight after old stones and joints come out, and design the new piece around that gold.
Kept in the family. Heirloom work is photographed and weighed with you present at drop-off and pickup. The gold that leaves with you is the gold you brought, reworked.
And when it shouldn't be touched. Some pieces are worth more as they are — in craft or in memory. When that's true, we'll say so and polish it instead.
